The South Wolds Academy and Sixth Form

16-19 Tuition Fund

Additional funding for one year for schools to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19)

The academy has received an allocation of £296 for this purpose.

Funding will be used to provide small group tuition for Year 12 and Year 13 students in courses where learning has been disrupted.

Criteria for selecting students at The South Wolds Academy and Sixth Form

  • Students supported need to be those who had not achieved grade 5 or above in at least one of GCSE English or maths by age 16. (There are no students on roll who achieved lower than a grade 4)

  • Prioritise students that will benefit most from small group tuition, based on the criteria above

  • Ensure the needs of SEND students, particularly where they have experienced additional disruption to learning as a result of their specific needs and disabilities, are taken into account.

The post 16 leadership team will decide the most appropriate approach to resourcing the delivery of small group tuition supported through the fund. This may include a mix of both teaching and learning support staff as appropriate. Selection of students will be based upon the criteria above in conjunction with assessment data currently held at the academy.
