The South Wolds Academy and Sixth Form

Primary Outreach Programme

In the wake of the pandemic, it has become more apparent that our young people are struggling to regulate their emotions and form strong relationships. We are working hard at South Wolds to support our students in building resilience and emotional intelligence.

We are therefore inviting pupils from our feeder primaries to an Emotional Wellbeing and Resilience workshop lead by Gemma Drewett, our Senior Mental Health Lead, and accompanied by student volunteers from our transition peer-mentoring programme.

Each workshop lasts for 1.5 hours and the aim is to cover a range of vocabulary, build a positive mindset, learn about our own mental health as well as others, normalise some of our feelings and develop ways of coping.

There will be a series of practical activities to engage students and encourage them to learn about their emotions in a fun setting. It will guide students through their own emotional responses and support them in building positive relationships and learning about others too. The workshops are available to book (for free) over the 2023 summer term during the afternoons. All sessions will take place at the Primary School at 2.00 pm.

Please book your session using the form below or e-mail office@southwolds.notts.sch.uk. The deadline for booking sessions is Monday 26th June 2023.

** Please note that bookings are on a "first come, first served" basis hence the requirement to select three options **
